Rose hips and an imposter.

The roads on our walk often have wild roses on the roadside. The longer we stayed, the redder the hips got. The last picture was taken, thinking it was a rose. I'm not sure what it is but it's a beautiful red.

I looked up the European Cornel. It could be the one. The fruits of the mystery tree look more round than ovoid and the leaves look different, not as much like a dogwood as the Cornel's.
