The Gargas ochre mines.

This was our third ochre related venture of this trip, after Roussillon and the Rustrel Colorado. This is a new attraction, a tour through an ochre mine that is still intact and preserved. These mines closed because of lower demand and competition from other paint colorants. They took 140,000 tons of ochre out of this mine every year.
