Vine buds, Saignon

These vines flower every Autumn. They are tough and have nice leaves. These buds are the start of the flowering and look to me like the shots from the telescopes in space. Many new galaxies forming. Soon the will be even more spectacular.

Vines and drainpipes, Saignon

A new subject wormed its way into my eye last year. There is a lot of rain here but I never see a lot of water in the street. It is because every house has drainpipes, and most of them go through the street to drainage tunnels under the street. As you all know, I love vines, so this is a natural for me.

Saignon

Right across from our rental is a lovely building that houses La Maison des Arts et Lettres. It has a fine bistrot, where you can get a great buffet lunch, made from scratch every day. You can also rent one of a number of lovely suites with kitchens. There are two painting workshops in the summer with Andrew Petrov as the teacher. Before and between the workshops he paints around the village. One day I saw this work drying on his window sill.

Goult

One of the first times we came to Provence we stayed in Goult. This vine was just about doorway height. I took a picture of Janie in front of it and have done it again over the years. The vine is huge now, Janie remains perfect.
