Bonstuillos, Fete de la Musique, Saignon

On Midsummer's Night French villages have music festivals. Saignon has a great one every year. This year there were flute recitals in the church, Hip-hop dancers, Country line dancing, karaoke and this band. They want from square to square playing wild rhythmic funky pop and jazz. If you weren't moving and laughing within a minute you were either deaf or dead. I followed them through three squares and shot a few videos. The woman in the foreground seemed to be the leader and played many instruments. What fun.

The Mayor, Saignon

Saignon hosted two acts for the Luberon Jazz Festival. One was a funky little band in Place de la Fontaine. We were treated to the sight of our mayor serving pizza to the crowd. Now that is public service;-))

Fete de la Musique, Saignon,21 June 2014

On Midsummer's Night French towns and cities have Fetes, usually music. This year Saignon had classical music, Western dancing, Poly-phonic singing and a village-wide circus. Here is some of the circus troupe leading us to the acrobats area.

Musicians after the market, Isle s/l Sorgue

These guys had been playing music for the shoppers all morning. They then went and got a beer and played what they wanted to play, much better.

Flute and organ recital, Apt

We were walking by the cathedral of St. Anne in Apt and heard some lovely music. We sat through a few songs and continued. I am amazed by the anti-shake of the Olympus E-M5. This was hand held at 1/8sec.
