Jenn with iPad, Rue de Cilly

We have a little rooftop deck here. During the hot days we are having it is an oven during the day. But in the evening, near sunset it has a nice breeze, lovely light and swarms of European swallows flying by. We photographers spend a lot of time trying to catch them in flight. Here is Jenn trying with an iPad. She got some too.

The saga of Farmer Bob, Part 1

On our favorite walk, the Bonnieux bike path to the west, we go by a very well run farm. We have nicknamed the owner Farmer Bob. On this day, as we walked by, there was a very loud gunshot from the direction of the farm. We turned to each other and both said, "Farmer Bob shot his wife!" and laughed. The next day his car was in his field and we guessed that he was looking to hide the body. More to come.

Lioux adventure

This is the end of our traversing the Falaise de la Madeleine in Lioux. We decided to show our daughter, Jenn one of our favorite walks. We parked at the other end from the town and walked up the opposite way from our normal route. When we reached the descent we missed a turn and ended up looping way around, not sure if we'd get back to Lioux. This is the point where we knew that we were headed in the right direction. You get an idea of the size of the malaise here.

Bistrot Atelier, Saignon

A new lunch place has opened in Saignon. It is in the place of Le Petit Cafe in Place de L'Horloge. The meal plan is a saladier. There are two sizes of plate you can fill. Seven and a half euros for a small plate and 13.50 for a large plate. What a bargain! This picture represents one lunch's offering. The next day there was not a single repeat. Shannon Phillips, the chef/manager/waitress/bottle washer, comes up with new creations on a daily basis. Her hummus is to die for and all of the other dishes are equally good. A must go lunch spot.

Smoking arch, Saignon

This arch has endured for all of our visits to Saignon. Two keystones, no waiting.

Last poppy, Saignon

Somebody built a nice little fort to protect this last poppy. Seemed to work.
