Artichoke, Rue de Bourget

We had. two giant artichokes from the market. Against all odds, the hearts were soft and wonderful.

Apero party, our first week here.

It is a tradition here to have people over for "aperos" which are meant to be a few nibbles and a glass of wine before dinner. Here it means a table groaning with food and some wine, augmented by every guest as they arrive. We had our friends, Ian and Jane over and were joined by our neighbors, Mary and Frederic and a new friend, Elio. Three hours and 6 bottles of wine later, aperos were over and everyone was happy.

Oleander, post pruning, 37 Rue du Bourget

Now we can see, more will come off in the Spring.

The mad pruner of Rue du Bourget

We have an oleander in front of our little house that seems to grow all year round. Janie got onto our wall and had at the lower branches. We cleared a bunch of the upper ones a bit later.
