 The bottom picture is of a swallow slowing down to transfer food to it's mate and baby. They never completely alight.....in their lives, sleeping on the wing. Yikes

Weeds, Saignon, near Le Rocher

 I admire tough weeds when they aren't in my garden. These two are growing in almost no soil, on an exposed rock, in a dry hot climate that turns cold and windy in the winter. They seem happy.

 These hollyhocks come back every year in a little plot near our rental. Once the sun is past they glow.

 This was a surprise treat of the music night. This group had danced before at previous Fetes de la Musique, but they had added members and practised. It was nice to hear a little country music and see people really enjoying an American pastime.

On Midsummer's Night French villages have music festivals. Saignon has a great one every year. This year there were flute recitals in the church, Hip-hop dancers, Country line dancing, karaoke and this band. They want from square to square playing wild rhythmic funky pop and jazz. If you weren't moving and laughing within a minute you were either deaf or dead. I followed them through three squares and shot a few videos. The woman in the foreground seemed to be the leader and played many instruments. What fun.

We were at a great restaurant in Fontaine de Vaucluse. At the next table was seated a bus tour. They were having a grand time. This woman was the leader at the table and was making a point to the man.
