If you ever wondered where Jackson Pollock got his ideas.

Janie, Bonnieux bike path.

A nice return to an old haunt. Cool but sunny and a good walk. Janie is sporting her new hat from the Apt market.

Cold day, Saignon

It has been cold, though

Provencal blue, front yard, Saignon

At least winter is bright here. Love the sharpness of the light.

Dog and truck, Saignon

Looked sad on a cold day.

Winter light, Apt......and hydrants.

Sundog, Saignon

This is the largest, closest sundog that I have seen. By the time I walked around the house to get a better shot, it was gone.

Mother and child, La Platane, Apt

We were having lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in Apt, La Platane (always order the fish), and this young family came in to eat. The mother was feeding her daughter and teaching her to hold a spoon.

Back street Saignon

Pizzeria O'Grill, Apt

We have been coming to this restaurant for close to twenty years. It is on a little side street in Apt. A lovely couple owned it for over 30 years. They retired two years ago and we were very worried that it would close. As it turned out another couple bought it and the quality is the same. They make a very thin crust pie and their tomato sauce is just wonderful. The decor remains funky. Always a good meal.

Our rental, 2019

I had rented a small Peugeot online. When we arrived at the rental building, the lovely woman said that they were out of small automatics and would we mind upgrading to this BMW X1 for the same price. Quickest yes ever. A very nice car, a diesel, with all the features of my new Hyundai Santa Fe back in Florida.

Winter shadows, Saignon

Michel, back from Chamonix.

Michel and his wife Silvie run a wonderful little restaurant in Saignon. Comptoir du Balthazar is, sadly, only open in the warm months, serving hearty and delicate Provencal specialties.

Andrew and his magic gloves

He's a genius.
