I got a new lens that was meant to have great bokeh. Bokeh is a Japanese term for the look of the out-of-focus parts of a picture. Smoother and creamier is better, sharper and geometric is worse. This is a 90mm lens from TT Artisans. Wide open it  is f/1.25, very wide for a 90mm. These tests were at wide open. The bokeh is really lovely to me.

We went to the Lourmarin market on Friday. A bit more upscale than the Apt one the next day. Lots of tourists for the first time, summer is here.

Our teacher

A small group of english speakers gathers once a week to learn conversational french. Salima is our, very patient teacher. She speaks better english than any of us, but is insistent on french in the class. It is a great 90 minutes and helps a lot. Ian is rushing in front of me to give her an apple and kiss up.
 

Framboises from Apt

Theses are run of the mill grocery store raspberries. Thet taste better than the best Driscoll's I have ever had. Sweeter and more flavor. Probably not bred to travel, but to be eaten.
 

Auberge

The Auberge du Presbytere in the center of Saignon is now open on a limited basis. You can still rent a room and Drinks and food are served on the square by the fountain. Good news.
 

Soiree Cowboy, St . Saturnin

 Not to be missed......well we might miss it.

Ian tries a whopper. We ate a great lunch at L'Estrade in St Saturnin and Ian was waxing lyrical.

 

The two Janes after two and a half years apart, after being given May Day lillies of the valley by our neighbor. That is a look of pure happiness.
