T'artiste, Bonnieux bike path, west, "Soaring Butterfly"
The bike paths here are old rail lines the have been paved over. Like asphalt everywhere, they crack due to time, pressure, land shifting and temperature swings. And they are patched by filling the cracks with warm tar. The person who does the bike path must be a frustrated artist because the dribbles between crack fills are very creative.

Around here the tar is melting and you have to be careful. The Boyfriend was not happy to find tar on his shoes' soles the other day. That's a typical French way to patch and pave over. They don't do it this way in Germany (okay, I feel they simply do nothing at all in Germany, so ...)
