We are in Saignon, in Provence, for the thirteenth time in thirteen years. This is our journal and photo album. I have now added posts from our home in North Florida. Arles
This is a Frank Gehry building up in Arles, that will house exhibition halls and offices. When finished, it will be sheathed in reflective metal a la the Disney Center. Fun to see the skeleton before it is clothed.
Back home
A brief break from La Belle Provence to let you know that we're safely home and back at the beach. Still miss Saignon, but this is pretty good too.

Concert audience, Saignon
We had a pop-up concert in Saignon and people gathered to hear a brass ensemble with singing. It was a joy and the audience loved it.
Provence cliche #356
Our little morning walk in Saignon allowed me to see this wonderful cliche combo. Sunflowers, lavender, of course, divided by cherry trees, all in front of a creatively crumbling little mas (stone building).

Saignon
There are fields of sunflowers every year below the town. I have tried every year to take a new un-cliched picture of them....with little success. Maybe I should be bold like this fellow.

Apt concert
Every Saturday there is a concert in the cathedral of Sainte Anne in Apt. You can slip in and here gifted musicians on the organ, or guitar, or flute etc. playing wonderful music. We listened one week and I took this shot and only realized later that it was a friend. You look great Marvin!
Lourmarin
No where near any houses, but perched in the middle of a grove of Spanish Broom, a true fire hazard.

Saignon
Another shot with the pinhole lens I bought by mistake. Lets me be a painter without that pesky learning curve:-)

Saignon
Right across from our rental is a lovely building that houses La Maison des Arts et Lettres. It has a fine bistrot, where you can get a great buffet lunch, made from scratch every day. You can also rent one of a number of lovely suites with kitchens. There are two painting workshops in the summer with Andrew Petrov as the teacher. Before and between the workshops he paints around the village. One day I saw this work drying on his window sill.
Saignon
I acquired a Holga pinhole lens, by mistake. Then I started to play with it and I like the results. Not like what I usually do.
